Blog Post: Ticket To Work Training Program for People with Disabilities
posted Tuesday, April 28, 2009 5:41 PM
The Social Security Administration is hosting A Ticket to Work training event for beneficiaries with disabilities (and local service providers) on Friday, May 1st at the Tampa Bay Work Force Alliance, 9215 N. Florida Ave., Suite 101 from 9:30 AM until Noon. Beneficiaries will learn how to connect to resources to be successful in getting to work.
The web site promoting the event, http://www.cessi.net/ttw/beneficiaryoutreach.html, provides an explanation of the program. Here is part of what it says, "The Social Security Administration (SSA) issues Tickets to beneficiaries with disabilities. The Ticket can be used to obtain services and support from approved service providers (called Employment Network or ENs) under the Ticket to Work Program. The goal of the Ticket to Work Program is to assist beneficiaries in obtaining employment and working towards financial independence." "If you are interested in working, the Ticket Program may be your key to accessing vocational rehabilitation, training, and placement services, as well as other services and supports to help you reach your employment goals. The program is available for people with disabilities between the ages of 18 and 64 who are receiving Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits." If you want to continue reading more about this program, including work incentives, click on the link above. If you want to register for the free event, follow this link, http://www.cessi.net/wise. I hope to see you there!
