Blog Post: Expand your job related searches with Google & Twitter
posted Friday, September 4, 2009 4:43 PM
So you are looking for a job (I am not psychic, you are on a job board!). You are using Jobing, Careerbuilder, Monster, maybe even Indeed & Simply Hired. You go to corporate careers pages, perhaps you use LinkedIn.
Have you used Google? Why not?!?! A recent study (ok, it's about a year old. I couldn't find the more recent one!) says that over 100 million related job searches are conducted each month on Google! That's 100,000,000; that's a lot of zero's! What about Twitter? Did you know you can use Twitter to search jobs and not be a user of the service? Twitter can be overwhelming to the most technical and social people. It can also be a tremendous tool to find a job. Companies, Job Boards & Recruiting Firms are all posting jobs on Twitter and engaging in conversations with people in a way they never have. Use the link I provided above, put some criteria for what you are looking for (type of job & location) and go for it!. It is very important you keep "#jobs" in the search. Twitter uses this as a defined search criteria and you are searching any "tweet" that has that listed. If you are interested joining a great company that is growing, PRC might be the right place for youas we are hiring for a new program in our Tampa location.
