The following is a press release from 7/11/07:
80 Years … 32,711 Stores and Counting Dallas, TX, July 11, 2007 - 7-Eleven, Inc. has long held the lead as the company with more convenience stores than any other, but now has overtaken quick-serve restaurants and food providers in the number of retail outlets worldwide. With a net of 1,086 new stores opened year-to-date, 7-Eleven became the food retailer with the most units, beating McDonald’s Corporation, which reported 31,062 as of March 31, 2007, and Subway Restaurants, with approximately 27,836. 7-Eleven operated, franchised and licensed 32,711 stores by the end of June. One year ago, 7-Eleven ranked second in units, but has since stepped up its domestic and overseas expansion. While 7-Eleven is rapidly expanding with a market-concentration strategy, the chain only operates in 17 countries and one U.S. territory, giving it tremendous growth potential, especially when compared to McDonald’s, which operates in 118, and Subway, with locations in 86 countries. 7-Eleven currently has stores in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, China, Malaysia, South Korea, the Philippines, Australia, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Turkey and Puerto Rico. Nearly 50 percent of 7-Eleven stores are located in the United States and Japan. “The expansion of 7-Eleven indicates the growth potential for convenience worldwide,” said 7-Eleven, Inc. President and CEO Joe DePinto. “As we celebrate our 80th anniversary as the world’s leading convenience retailer this month, we look forward to satisfying customers and further strengthening our brand around the globe.” About 7 Eleven, Inc. I do not know whether this is the right channel to communicate my interest. I have just bought a beautiful shophouse outskirt of Kuantan town, in Pahang State, West Malaysia and I am looking for a tenant. It is now in it's final stage of completion. It is located in a new housing area and the same developer are construting phase by phase private residential houses. In total almost a thousand houses to be constructed. It will be a very good location for your business. Existingly there are no 7-eleven outlets there.
I am approaching 7-eleven whether you are interested to rent my shop. If you are interested, I can send photos of my shop and photos of the surrounding area where you can see lots of housing development in progress.
I am not a broker and I am a genuine shophouse owner merely wanting to rent my property to 7-eleven.
To anyone in reading please pass my message to the right channel. Appreciate.
Thank you
