Profile: Pinellas County Urban League

In this period of strife, wars, high youth unemployment, extremely high African-American incarceration, etc., there remains a constant – a force which serves to bring factions together, to restore sensibility and to act as a community change agent, promoting dialog and ensuring that all have a voice.

In Pinellas County, that change agent is the Urban League. Its presence in the community since 1976 has been recognized by business, religious, civil and community leaders. However, more importantly, this fact has been and continues to be recognized by individuals who trust the Urban League to intercede on their behalf, take a stand against injustice and continually work to provide services which improve their quality of life.
