SDII Engineers perform site inspections on residential and commercial buildings as related to areas of reported damage and/or defects. Our engineers determine the cause and origin of the damage and/or defect based on the evaluation of field observations. A detailed engineering report is generated which clearly describes the observed conditions and professional opinion as to the cause of the distress and as well as general recommendations for repair and/or replacement of the subject area of the structure.

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

Florida PE or registered PE in home state, regional state licensure preferred

5+ years structural engineering experience, 2 years forensic work preferred

Prior work with building codes, and the ability to research issues

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Deposition/expert witness testimony experience a plus

Must welcome challenges and possess a high degree of integrity

Should be able to travel away from home overnight to complete field inspections
