Jobing Description
Job Description
  • Part Time 24 hours per week.
  • Provides nursing care to patients in an out patient, substance abuse setting.
  • Does nursing assessments, patient evaluations and screenings, dispenses medications and provides the patient with health care education.
  • Works with the program physician and other members of the treatment team to coordinate patient care.

    • Skills / Requirements
    Required Skills
  • Understands & adheres to medication protocols.
  • Effectively uses the induction phase to monitor and adjust medication levels according to protocol.
  • Follows policy with use of two identifiers when medicating patients or administering treatment.
  • Documents accurately when using emergency medicating/ hand dosing procedure.
  • Completes reconciliation reports for methadone and suboxone in an accurate and efficient way. Assess patients daily for appropriateness to medicate.
  • Demonstrates diversion control awareness.
  • Assures lab work is completed in required time frame.
  • Reads and documents PPD results accurately.
  • Registers medications from outside providers accurately.
  • Uses approved abbreviations when documenting.
  • Transcribes physicians orders timely & accurately.
  • Writes clear, concise progress notes.
  • Documents contact with outside providers on the HIPAA log.
  • Completes intake paperwork accurately.
  • Completes patients Annual Review paperwork accurately.
  • Educates patients using NATC approved health care education at intake and anytime after admission its deemed necessary and documents on ICER.
  • Assures physician orders are signed and dated within required time frames.

    Required Experience
  • Florida Nursing License.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Must pass background and fingerprinting checks.
  • HIV/AIDS training required every two years
  • All required continuing education to maintain Florida Nursing License
