Job: Echo Technician - PRN

Responsibilities:

Performs echocardiographic examinations as ordered.

Including M-mode, doppler studies, 2-D and stress echoes, plus bubble studies. Provides high quality studies in professional way.

Obtains all data necessary for diagnosis.

Correlation of diagnosis to echo findings. The technician is able to recognize abnormalities that require further investigation.

Completes all other duties as required, and as assigned.

Properly maintains equipment and the lab work areas. Stocks lab supplies. Compiles data and statistics. Participates in weekly echo conferences. Copies tapes for presentations. Keeps current on all trends and changes in echo field. Able to make appointments in absence of secretary.

Education:
Successful completion of an accredited Echocardiography program.

Experience:
Previous experience with basic and cardiac ultrasound. A minimum of two years experience in a medically related field is desired.

Other Requirements:
Within two years of employment must obtain credentials as either a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS). Must also obtain hospital (LRMC) credentialing eligibility. Must be available to respond to a maximum thirty (30) minute callback time limit.
