Job: Engineer - Maintenance Tech

Works hands on installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment. Maintenance person that maintains the physical building. This position directly interacts with customers.
The following is also involved in this position.
• Knowledge of all areas of building, physical plant and hotel's area features.

• Understands fire system operation and can perform needed resets and control panel procedures.

• Ensures that all materials and tools are thoroughly cleaned and picked up after each job is completed.

• Has basic knowledge of chill water circuit and chiller.

• Knows basic operation of guest room HVAC units.

• Has good working knowledge of routine plumbing tasks.

• Has complete knowledge of basic electricity and troubleshooting to include 12 V thru 480 volt.

• Has complete knowledge of single and three phase voltage.

• Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders and completes assigned tasks.

• Diagnoses malfunctions in machinery and equipment.

• Dismantles, assembles, and installs machinery to include motors, pumps, pneumatics, gear and belt drives, and transmissions.

• Able to clean swimming pool, parking lot, and parking garage.

• Able to perform test chlorine and PH of swimming pool and add chlorine at proper levels. Vacuum pool with knowledge of how filter system works.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
