Job Summary:This position assists with technical work supporting permitting and compliance activities pertaining to ­Resource Regulation. Conducts or assist with routine investigations related to projects involving well construction, and/or water use permitting. Assembles data from established files, databases, maps, publications to document historical information relative to the project, complaint or violation under investigation. Information gathered may be used as evidence in administrative hearings or court cases. Provides input to corrective actions needed to resolve issues. Reviews and issues well construction permits. Reviews permit conditions placed on existing permits and notes discrepancies. Drafts and submits summary reports and data for review. Conducts miscellaneous permitting-support duties including routine data access, retrieval, entry and update. Serves as back up to other section staff as needed. Employee may be required to perform duties, which may include the employee's normal work functions or other emergency support functions as determined necessary by the District, as assigned before, during and after major storm events and emergency situations such as hurricanes or other declared emergencies. Participates in departmental projects and performs other duties as required. This position is located in the District's Bartow Service Office. This is a full-time temporary position providing (in addition to all government-required programs) limited benefits, including employee assistance, overtime for hours worked over 40 in one week, and may include retirement and voluntary participation in a deferred compensation plan. Position is reviewed at least yearly for extension.

Skills / Requirements
Education and Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent and one year of related experience involving administrative or technical work or equivalent is required. Valid drivers' license is required. Ability to operate a personal computer is required. Experience using Word or Excel is preferred. Experience involving data entry related to permitting functions of a regulatory agency, especially pertaining to well construction is preferred.
