Exciting opportunity for a Production Supervisor at our Port Manatee FL Manufacturing Plant!  Great plant environment and team focused on safety.  Join us and assist in building these incredible heat exchangers!

Air Products & Chemicals is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor for our Port Manatee, FL plant.

This is a great opportunity for a high energy, self-starter with strong interpersonal skills.  You will supervise 20+ shop employees at the manufacturing facility and is responsible for meeting all safety expectations, production schedules and budgets, and product quality requirements.

This facility manufactures cryogenic equipment to support the companies industrial gas and LNG business.  As well as pressure vessels, distillation columns, piping skids and cold boxes it is also the world’s leading manufacturer of liquefied natural gas (LNG) heat exchangers.  Each heat exchanger consists of coil wound tube bundles housed within an aluminum or stainless steel pressure shell, all of which are assembled and welded by skilled employees at the plant.  The heat exchanger is the heart of the LNG process and will be shipped to customers throughout the world.  Each heat exchanger takes approximately three years to build and each one is engineered to order.
You will interface with all departments and levels of the organization to optimize processes and products. Preferred candidates will be knowledgeable in blueprint reading, metal fabrication, and welding techniques. You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to instruct employees on manufacturing processes, motivate performance, lead and implement continuous improvement activities, and work with teams throughout the organization. Must be flexible to work extended hours, day and night shifts, and scheduled weekends.

1. Assign and reassign employees to jobs in accordance with established classifications and practices to meet detailed shop schedules and ensure individual performance levels and specific production requirements are met.
2. Recommend additions or reductions to the workforce which are commensurate with workload.
3. Seek out and recognize safety and health hazards. Assure immediate corrective action through personal action.
4. Conduct routine safety talks and audits with shop employees.
5. Ensure that proper training and instruction is given to each employee.
6. Verify that instructions are being followed and that routines, procedures and systems requirements are being met. Take immediate personal action when work is not progressing to plan.
7. Maintain good housekeeping and take corrective actions.
8. Ensure all safety and work rules are met, and take corrective action as required.

- HS diploma/GED, Associates degree in engineering or metals technology preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing experience, metal fabrication preferred.
Requires excellent communication skills, strong computer skills (SAP a plus), ability to work well in a team, project positive attitude, and strong desire to learn.
