This position requires skilled and semi-skilled work in the repair and maintenance of building components and mechanical equipment. Work involves the responsibility for miscellaneous building maintenance tasks and preventative maintenance procedures, as well as new construction and renovations. Work involves the operation of computer based facility energy control, mechanical repairs, electrical repairs, and plumbing repairs. Work requires tasks associated with event activity at the RP Funding Center. Work is performed with or without a team, and usually without close supervision; however, work is reviewed during progress, and completion.
This is a part-time temporary position.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Make miscellaneous minor repairs, and adjustments on all building related equipment, fixtures not limited to chairs, event service equipment, all items from roof to ground are included in the building.
  • Repair on small engines fabricates metal items, stick, and wire welding, soldering, riveting, and other fastener installations.
  • Operation of lighting, HVAC, boilers, office equipment, shelter repairs.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance, carpentry work, operation of various power tools.
  • Repair wall surfaces, spackling, sanding, primer applications, paint top coat, assure paint matching, and quality work.
  • Operation of lift equipment, fork lifts, scissor lifts, but not limited to these.
  • Basic computer knowledge and operation.
  • Able to work weekends and alternate hours, to assure efficient department requirements.

 QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE) AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma from an accredited school or GED.
  • One (1) year of experience in building trades or building maintenance and operations of a facility system.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have and maintain a valid state of Florida driver's license.
  • Must have and maintain a valid telephone number.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to use maintenance equipment, tools, and be aware of hazards.
  • General knowledge of building construction and trade work.
  • Capable to work safely as a team.
  • Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds and power lifts.
  • Ability to work from sketches, oral and written instructions.
  • Skill and ability to keep routine records and reports.
  • Good working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the public.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Medium to some extended periods of walking, standing, stooping, jumping, stretching, lifting 50 lbs. routinely, and occasionally exerting up to 100 lbs. of force.
  • Ability to move quickly and with skill, fingers, hands, or limbs for tasks requiring precise work.
  • The job risks include exposure to bright light, dust, pollen, extreme heat or cold, humidity, high noise levels, animals/wildlife, fumes, odors, and moving traffic.
  • Must have normal visual, hearing, speaking, color perception, sense of smell, depth perception, and texture perception.
